Welcome to Virginia Goats Youth Football Team!

At The Goats, we are more than just a team — we are a community dedicated to developing young athletes both on and off the field.

Founded on the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth, our program provides children ages 4 - 12 with the opportunity to learn and love the game of football in a supportive and structured environment. Whether a player is stepping onto the field for the first time or preparing for competitive play, we offer age-appropriate coaching that focuses on skill development, fitness, and character.

Our experienced coaches and dedicated volunteers strive to create a positive atmosphere where every player is encouraged to reach their full potential — all while having fun, building friendships, and learning the values of dedication and respect.

Founder & Coach

Coach Tee

He began my football journey at the age of 7, playing recreational football with the Wolf Pack under Coach Pig. While basketball was his primary passion, he found great joy in football as well. Throughout his athletic career, he also played at Tallwood High School and Bayside High School. Graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, where he further honed his love for sports.

After high school, he felt a deep desire to give back to the community and support the youth, especially those who may not have many opportunities. This led me to start coaching four years ago. His goal was simple — to be a positive influence and role model for kids who needed it most. This experience inspired him to establish his own organization, allowing him to take a larger, more impactful role in the community and continue to foster growth and development for young athletes.

Curtis Broidy

Coach Curt

Curtis Broidy, known throughout the football community as Coach Curt, is a dedicated mentor, service member, and leader both on and off the field. Born in Washington, DC, and raised in various areas of Maryland, Coach Curt graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, MD in 2000, where he also played football throughout his youth and high school years. He pursued further education at Paine College and Augusta Technical College in Augusta, GA, and later at Traviss Technical Center in Lakeland, FL.
In 2007, Coach Curt began his distinguished service in the United States Navy, where he is proudly serving for 17 years. His military background has deeply influenced his coaching style, rooted in discipline, structure, and resilience.
Coach Curt has spent the past six years coaching youth football across Florida, Hawaii, and Virginia. His passion for the sport and everything it represents inspired him to give back to the game by helping shape the next generation of athletes. Having grown up in some challenging environments, Coach Curt understands the powerful role that sports—and strong mentors—can play in a young person’s life.
His mission as a coach goes beyond the X’s and O’s. He is committed to teaching life skills through football, including discipline, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and cultivating the mindset of a champion. Coach Curt sees the football field as a platform for transformation, helping young players grow into confident, capable, and character-driven young men.

Barry Helan

Coach Bear

Coach Bear grew up locally and graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, VA, in 2004, before continuing his education at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA, where he graduated in 2009. Throughout his athletic career, he developed a deep passion for playing receiver and contributing to offenses by enhancing the passing game. This passion eventually led him to specialize in coaching receivers, where he focuses on key skills such as hand placement, route running, body control, and creating opportunities to put players in the best position to succeed. As players progress, the passing game becomes a larger part of their development, and Coach Bear believes that introducing these concepts early helps expedite their growth on the field.

For Coach Bear, coaching has become a fulfilling and therapeutic outlet that allows him to stay in the moment while also spending quality time with his son. Beyond his love for the game, he believes that football is one of the few platforms where young boys can learn essential life skills that shape them into strong, responsible young men. The challenges faced on the field — from overcoming pain and adversity to dealing with fear, contact, and conflict — are life lessons that extend far beyond just winning or losing.

The true reward for Coach Bear comes from building meaningful relationships with the athletes and guiding them through their development. He is passionate about being a positive male influence, especially in today’s world where such role models are needed more than ever. Football, for Coach Bear offers an invaluable environment where boys can channel their energy, face challenges, and grow into well-rounded individuals. By fostering a culture of hard work, discipline, and unity, he aims to create a team environment that celebrates diversity and turns it into strength.

Coach Floyd

Defensive Coordinator

Coach Floyd – Defensive Coordinator, VA Goats
With over 30 years of experience in football as both a player and coach, Coach Floyd brings unmatched passion, dedication, and wisdom to the VA Goats organization as Defensive Coordinator. A proud Norfolk, VA native, he was raised in a challenging environment where football became more than a game—it became a lifeline.
Coach Floyd attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he earned All-Tidewater honors and a full athletic scholarship to St. Paul's College. There, he graduated with a degree in education and continued his playing career at the semi-pro level. While his days on the field as a player eventually came to a close, the fire for football never faded—it simply shifted to a new mission: giving back to the youth.
Now a mentor, coach, and role model, Coach Floyd is committed to teaching young athletes the fundamentals of defense and the skills needed not just to play football, but to succeed in life. His goal is to develop not only great players, but great men—future leaders, professionals, and fathers.
For Coach Floyd, coaching is more than X's and O's—it's about using football as a platform to inspire, uplift, and transform lives. He believes deeply that the game can save others, just as it once saved him.

Coach 'OJ'

Coach “OJ” brings a passionate and disciplined approach to youth football as a dedicated coach for the VA Goats 9U team. With four years of coaching experience, Coach OJ has quickly earned a reputation for developing high-level talent and nurturing the foundational skills that create not just great athletes—but great teammates and individuals.
Driven by a deep love for the game, Coach OJ has mentored numerous high-potential players, instilling in them a toughness and work ethic that carries beyond the field. His key coaching strengths include teaching the fundamentals of tackling, developing footwork and ball skills, and reinforcing the importance of discipline both on and off the field.
Coach OJ’s philosophy is centered around his 5 Keys to Building a Champion:

• Adjustments – Schemes, preparation, and adaptability.
• Physicality – Building toughness through competition.
• Determination – Cultivating the will to win.
